[Magic] Commander League Rules and Information
The Chimera Hobby Shop Appleton Magic Commander League will meet every Sunday, Noon to 5pm, at Chimera Hobby Shop Appleton.
This league is designed to be fun and non-competitive. It will be open and casual, offering both one on one and multiplayer play. The goal of this league is to promote participation and attendance, not winning or competition.
Rules of Play:
Rules are the same as any other tournament type play. Decks must conform to WOC’s Commander rules and banned list. Failure to follow these rules will result in forfeiting all points earned while using an illegal deck. Continued use of an illegal deck will result in banning from the league. For more information, check out mtgcommander.net
Play:
Players will be responsible for finding their opponents and keeping track of their score sheet. You should play against every player available and should try to avoid playing against someone you’ve already played, if there are enough players to do so. No one should play against someone they just played.
There will be no time limit, but players are encouraged to play as many games as possible to maximize their points. We also ask that you get your score sheets turned in at 4:30 so points can be tallied and prizes awarded by 5.
Points:
Points will be awarded for both simply playing games and winning games, with a bonus points awarded for multiplayer games. Prizes will be given out for participation and also weekly and monthly prizes awarded to the player with the most wins and with the most games played.
Points are awarded as follows:
1 point for playing a match
2 additional points for winning a match
2 points per player for playing in a multiplayer match
3 additional points for winning a multiplayer match
4 additional points for attending every week in the month
Prizes:
Prizes will consist of various promo cards for participation with additional cards and promotional items for weekly winners. Entry fees will be collected and used as credit for monthly winners.
