[Event] Wars of History, May 27-29, 2011

Chimera Hobby Shop Appleton is hosting its first Wars of History Memorial Day Weekend Event! Remember the reason for the holiday and learn more about the wars American men and women have fought for freedom.

For three days, from Friday, May 27th through Sunday, May 29th, Chimera Hobby Shop Appleton will host a series of historical war board and miniature game events.

There are NO fees for playing in any of the demos or casual games!

Axis & Allies Global War
Saturday and Sunday All Day
A HUGE Axis & Allies Board Game variant, using a beautiful home made board the size of two of our large game tables and miniatures from Axis & Allies Miniatures and Axis & Allies: War at Sea. No experience necessary, play for the whole weekend or for an hour! No entry fee!

Wings of War
Casual Gaming and Demos All Three Days; Tournament at 11am on Saturday
No experience necessary. Join in re-creation of fighter plane battles of World War I and World War II. The Saturday tournament will be a grand melee of the skies with planes provided; last man flying wins! Entry fee $1; all fees go toward prizes.

Flames of War
Casual Gaming and Demos All Three Days; Tournament at 11am on Sunday
No experience necessary. Join in re-creation of the land battles of World War II, complete with tanks, artillery, and infantry. Join a quick demo any time, or if you have a bit more experience, join in the tournament on Sunday. Point values, entry fee, and prizes to be determined (all entry fees go toward prizes).

Axis & Allies Miniatures and Axis & Allies: War At Sea
Join in casual games and demos all three days, as they are made available.


Other games to be announced; may include Johnny Reb, DBA, French and Indian War, War of 1812, Memoir '44, Battle Cry, Tide of Iron, and other games re-creating Wars of History! If you have your own historical war board, card, miniatures, or even role-playing game and want to share it and teach others to play, by all means bring it with you!
